11: THE STUDIO’S SELF-CARE HABITS

We are huge advocates for self-care here at The Studio Upstairs. We see the importance of it every day when our amazing clients leave the salon feeling rejuvenated and refreshed after a hair therapy session in one of our chairs. There’s nothing better than helping our clients feel this way, but it’s so important that we all realise how necessary this type of self-care is on a daily level. The most important relationship you have is with yourself, and this relationship determines the energy you have for others.

With so many businesses and products selling self-care solutions, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and disheartened by the effort and cost of looking after ourselves; but true self-care is anything you do deliberately for your mental, physical or emotional well-being. It’s as simple as waking up a little earlier, going for a walk, writing your thoughts in a journal, or just being still with yourself. Keep reading for our team’s favourite daily habits & some simple self-care inspiration.

Michael Young

An early morning gym sesh, freshly brewed coffee, ocean swims, and at the end of the day being in the kitchen alone is just like therapy.

Torie Cini

Early mornings, beach walks, diffusers (orange sunrise), always time for a boogie through the week to unwind.

Corey Bromley

Workout in the morning, beach walk after with Koa, and always salt lamps and mediation sounds before bed.

Caity Woodbridge

Swimming (especially a dip in cold water to reset), moving my body, or cooking and getting organised for the week. It’s oddly satisfying.

Elly Palmer

Gym, wine at the beach for sunset, taking off my makeup and putting on my skincare.

Will Allen

Cosy nights on the balcony, taking a bath and currently hot yoga.

Jess Longhurst

Ocean swims to wash the week of any bad juju.
