THE STUDIO UPSTAIRS 2022 HAIR CAMPAIGN
It’s the time of year again where we at The Studio Upstairs put together our creative minds with the help of local businesses to create our hair campaign. This years campaign was inspired by the effect the recent years have had on us. We wanted to create a sense of freedom, liberation & growth. A sense of finding ourselves again & shifting into a new life where our divine desire is to be free. It's only when you can almost see the light light at the end of the tunnel that you can reflect on the experience and how it helped you grow or be grounded as a person. We know this time has been tumultuous, but it’s in those times where we find those silver linings in life. Silver linings like being home with your pets, having dinner as a family, spending an extra 20 minutes on your skin routine because you have the time to do so. Reading books you’d have never read, walking miles you’d have never walked and having the ability to free your mind from the everyday clouds that come with the stresses of the usual workday.
We worked with local businesses to create this campaign, chatting about the past two years, sharing our experiences and how we revelled in the simple life for a while. Shot on the grounds at the Acute Abode in Currumbin Valley, the whimsical rainforest and playful paddock made for the perfect backdrop for our Ethereal Campaign. Our Studio Upstairs founder Jess perfectly curated our model Yasmins hair with assistance from our salon Manager Corey. We looooveddd Yasmins naturally textured hair and used the GHD Thin Curling Wand to enhance and define those beautiful curls. Holly had recently made the bold decision to cull her long creamy locks in exchange for an off the shoulder effortless cut - styled using the GHD Classic Wave wand, faces enhanced perfectly by Topaz West. Gabrielle Richels our stylist from Emte Boutique on James Street in Burleigh carefully constructed each of the looks for both models, including the most beautiful, dainty pieces of jewellery from By Charlotte - a brand in which is said to have been created to connect hearts and minds that have affirmations inscribed on them to inspire the wearer with positivity and optimism. A sentiment we can align ourselves so much with. We hope this campaign resonates with you like it did us, we feel very lucky to be able to showcase our feelings and work through such wonder. Welcome to Ethereal… a delicate beauty in an ever changing world.
